Anita Foster is a senior at Spelman College (class of 2013), majoring in International Affairs. Anita is also Student Government Association president—a well-deserved title, as Anita truly exemplifies a civil servant and global citizen. Anita is highly engaged in the Obama 2012 campaign and has shared her reasons for supporting President Barack Obama:
This summer I am a member of the Democrats for Education Reform team that is advocating for better schools in New York City. It is not an easy task. However, as I canvass and campaign daily, I am reminded of the importance of rich grassroots work and community advocacy. I support President Obama because he proves he remembers these small urban communities. I followed Barack Obama as a senator and now as the chief leader of America, and I still marvel over his commitment to a prosperous America. Through President Obama’s policies and ethical leadership style, he is the candidate who represents my interest as a student, woman, and future leader of America. I am inspired by his tenacious approach, and I look forward another four years under his pilotage.
