DFER-Louisiana Endorses U.S. Senate Candidate Caroline Fayard
“Caroline Fayard is the clear choice for Louisiana families”

NEW ORLEANS, LAEva Kemp, State Director for Democrats for Education Reform-Louisiana, released the following statement:

“Today, Democrats for Education Reform-Louisiana announces our strong endorsement of Caroline Fayard to the U.S. Senate,” said Kemp. “With Caroline Fayard as Louisiana’s next Senator, families and children will once again have a champion fighting for them on Capitol Hill.

“Caroline Fayard understands that education is essential to bolstering Louisiana’s families. Not only will she work to preserve the gains our public school systems have made over the last decade, but Caroline will also work to ensure each student has access to a world-class education, regardless of their zip code or socioeconomic status. Caroline is the clear choice for Louisiana families.”

Caroline Fayard is a New Orleans attorney, running for U.S. Senate as a champion of women’s right to equal pay, a raise in the minimum wage, and equal rights for all Louisianans. Raised in Denham Springs in Livingston Parish, she is campaigning for a new generation of leadership to help move Louisiana forward. She is a board member and past president of Louisiana Appleseed, and serves on the board of Evacuteer.org, the Louisiana Children’s Museum, and the New Leaders Council.

In this year’s race for Senate, Fayard has earned the endorsement of the Independent Women’s Organization of New Orleans, and the nonpartisan Alliance for Good Government. Leaders from across the political spectrum, including Mayor Jennifer Vidrine of Ville Platte and New Orleans’ own James Carville, have embraced her candidacy and her vision for the future of our state.

“I am confident that Caroline Fayard will support high quality public school options, including charter schools,” said DFER Advisory Board Member and former U.S. Senator Mary L. Landrieu. “Caroline recognizes the impact these options have on our most vulnerable children and it’s essential that Louisiana’s next Senator fights for education excellence as a top priority.”

“This November, DFER urges voters to pull the lever for Caroline Fayard,” said Kemp. “We deserve a Senator who will fight day-in and day-out to ensure Louisiana businesses, families and children will have a seat at the table in Washington, D.C.”
