ERN Congratulates Former Governor Dannel Malloy on His Appointment to Head Maine’s University System
New York, N.Y. (May 30, 2019) –– Education Reform Now (ERN) released the following statement today in recognition of former Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy’s appointment as Chancellor of the University of Maine System:
“As governor, Dannel Malloy showed tremendous leadership for the students of Connecticut and a commitment to increasing equitable outcomes for all. He made significant investments in education reform, increasing funding and accountability to improve Connecticut’s lowest-performing school districts; building a high-intervention network out of low-performing schools across the state; and funding thousands of new pre-K slots to increase access to early childhood education for all families. Under Gov. Malloy’s tenure, Connecticut saw record high graduation rates and increased participation in Advanced Placement courses among students of color.
