Not long ago, we added Alan Khazei, the co-founder of City Year and candidate for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, to our summer Hot List, the Funky Bunch. Alan is a longtime supporter of all kinds of aggressive reforms, and he’s a firecracker to boot.
So we’re super excited about the news that Alan raised an outstanding $920K during the second quarter of 2011. That’ll probably be among the best in the country for a candidate who’s never held elective office. Plus, it’s a real grassroots showing; half of his 1,100 donors gave $200 or less.
