DFER Team Spends Veterans Day Helping Hurricane Sandy Victims

Blogs, Letters & Testimonials

DFER’s own Sean Andersen and Omar Lopez spent their Veterans Day volunteering at Williamsburg Charter High School to cook up some hot meals for those in the most affected areas of Brooklyn and Queens that remain without heat, power, or water because of Hurricane Sandy. Due to a lack of power, cooking is still not possible in many areas of Red Hook and the Rockaways without mobile kitchens. Lopez and Andersen, along with other volunteers, chipped in to whip up a delicious Italian meal and donate canned goods to those in need.
