Education Reform Coalition Urges New York’s Education Commissioner: Get Teacher Evaluations Right in New York City

A coalition of 11 education reform groups released a letter today urging New York Education Commissioner John King to create a teacher evaluation system that will benefit the City’s teachers and students for years to come.

The coalition recommends including the following elements in the system: a concise evaluation rubric, student surveys, a manageable administrative burden, and a fair, efficient appeals process.
