On February 28, Leaders of Color virtually kicked off the Class of 2023 Fellowship Program.
Leaders of Color—a Education Reform Now affiliate program that trains Black and Latino leaders who may not typically have the opportunities and institutional support to run for public office, develop the skills and leadership needed to win and deliver on education and community equity—welcomed over 60 fellows from Memphis, Louisiana, and Washington, DC.
This year Leaders of Color is gearing up to embark on a 6-month journey of training around leadership, civic, and political engagement. Sen. Corey Booker greeted the Leaders of Color staff and fellows. During the virtual kick-off, fellows were grounded in the importance of civil rights, education, and the need to support Black and Latino candidates, campaign operatives, and becoming change agents in their communities.
