Amy Selib Dowell has been the DFER Executive Director in Connecticut since 2015. After nearly two decades of political work, she has served campaigns in New York City and State, in Connecticut, and on the National level, as well as non-profit organizations.

During her years as a campaign operative, Amy served as Finance Director for the successful Andrew Cuomo 2010 gubernatorial campaign from 2007 through 2009, and remained an advisor to the campaign and the Governor. She was also the lead political and fundraising consultant to the New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli from 2009 until 2012 and worked with Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) and the non-profit Alliance for Justice. In 2013, she led fundraising efforts for NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer’s competitive primary race.

Amy served as Finance Director to former New York State Governor David A. Paterson during his successful run for Lieutenant Governor in 2006 and Deputy Finance Director for Democratic Nominee Fernando Ferrer’s mayoral campaign in 2005. Prior to her time in New York, Amy was the Manager of the Frontline/Red to Blue incumbent protection program in its inception year at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in Washington, DC.

Additionally, Amy was the Development Director for StudentsFirst in New York and Connecticut, the national education reform advocacy organization in 2012 and 2013.

Amy is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Madison, was born and raised in Connecticut and lives there with her husband and two school aged children, Bea and Sam.
