YUCK: It's Presidential Pander Week in Philadelphia!

Blogs, Letters & Testimonials

July 3, 2007

I’ll have a lot more on this later in the week once all of the Democratic presidential candidates have had their chance to take their medicine from Reg Weaver’s spoon.

But if you want to see how awkward our party has become on education, just check out some of the video clips of the Representative Assembly pandering at the National Education Association web site.

Apparently, as a party, we believe that the only thing wrong with America’s schools is that the kids take tests 180 days a year. So our stance is not just lame, it is based on a premise that is absolutely bogus.

No field trips? Do any of these people (electeds/union bosses) have kids in public schools? My kids went on more field trips in the final marking period this year than I did from 1975-1980! And even in test-heavy NYC, the tests are done in winter. So we just give up once the tests are done? Is that NCLB’s fault?
