While you’re decked out in clashing shades of green, enjoying a pint of Guinness, our March Reformers of the Month, Senators Mary Landrieu (D-LA) and Kay Hagan (D-NC), are battling tooth and nail to hold onto their seats—seats that are crucial to keeping Democrats in the majority in the U.S. Senate.

But, there’s still time to put that extra cash you’ve been saving for your next round of green beers to good use. Click here to throw just $20 into the collective ed reform pot of gold for two worthy DFERs.

Your help will protect the seats of these strong DFERs and our Party’s control of the Senate.

Senator Mary Landrieu is a courageous supporter of Obama’s education agenda, and her reelection is critical to making continued improvements to our public education system. While on the Appropriations Committee, she has led efforts to expand and fund high-quality public charters and authored legislation on teacher evals and training. Senator Landrieu gets that great schools and great teachers are what’s going to give children the best shot in life and what will deliver the promise of the American Dream.

But, it won’t be an easy win for Landrieu in 2014 – her likely opponent, Rep. Bill Cassidy, already has $2 million on hand. The senator will have to raise more than ever to keep her seat. So, donate here to help her efforts, now!

Senator Kay Hagan has also been a strong proponent of the President’s education reform initiatives such as Race to the Top. Along with Senator Michael Bennett, and as a member of the Senate HELP Committee, Hagan led a coalition of Senate Democrats to support legislation on accountability and teacher effectiveness. Senator Hagan knows that educators, like all professionals, need good information and feedback to continuously improve in their craft.

In 2008, Hagan was elected with 52% of the vote. But now a crowded field of Republicans is eyeing her seat in November’s election. Let’s help her over the finish line by clicking here.

Both of these senators have been fiercely supportive of President Obama’s education agenda for the past six years and have truly exhibited what it means to be a DFER. But, come November 4, they face an uncertain outcome. That’s why they need your help!

This St. Patrick’s Day, we’re going to need a little more than the luck of the Irish to keep these DFERs in office. Donate just $20 to Senators Landrieu and Hagan today. Their reelection is not only important for our Party, and for the children of North Carolina and Louisiana, but also for ALL our nation’s public schoolchildren.

Thanks,
Joe
