There is a major fact that drives the work we do at DFER: the United States is one of the richest countries in the world, and yet, it is doing a mediocre job of ensuring equal access to a high quality education for all our kids. With your help, we hope to improve our education system by backing those candidates, campaigns, and organizations committed to giving children their best shot at success—an excellent education.

Enter The DFER List: a new political donation platform empowering the public to contribute to those candidates that care most about improving our schools. We designed this website to offer opportunities for first-time supporters and longtime activists to directly support the education champions that will make a difference for our nation’s children.

The DFER List comes at a crucial time. As we approach the 2014 midterm elections, leaders like Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Senator Chris Coons (D-DE), and other Dems are in vulnerable races. These DFERs need our help more than ever to ensure they can carry on their work to improve our schools.

To do so, we created a secure, three-step donation process to make using The DFER List safe and easy. Go ahead and take a look – for each candidate listed, you can read more about their work and even split your donation between multiple candidates with just a click. Your contributions, no matter how big or small, will help support those who champion our kids. And just as important, The DFER List will help shine a bright spotlight on the need to improve our schools. The site just makes sense.

Join me as I support those candidates and campaigns on The DFER List. It is the next step in our collective effort to ensure the an excellent education for all. And check back often, the national, state and local leaders, campaigns and organizations featured on The DFER List will grow in the coming weeks and months.
